A new sulfur and carbon analyzer was launched at the Central Plant Laboratory. The principle of operation of the device is based on the fact that the sample is burned in an induction furnace in a pure oxygen environment at a standard temperature of 2200 ° C. During combustion, carbon is oxidized to CO2, sulfur to SO2. Exhaust dust and moisture are removed from the gas. Gas is supplied to detectors that determine the concentration of CO2 and SO2 by IR absorption. The concentration of carbon and sulfur is calculated using specialized software, the results completely satisfy the requirements of GOST.
